About the Bison
• At 8-1, Bucknell is off to its best start to a season in program history through nine matches, eclipsing the 1982 team that started 6-1-1. Bucknell also enters the weekend on a seven-match winning streak, its longest since 2013.
• The senior class has led the way through much of the season, including All-Tournament performances from Sophie Bullard, Mimi Richards, and Bridgette Holland, and a tournament MVP selection for Brooke Stark.
• Bullard currently leads the team in kills (98) and digs (126), and has had a double-double in three of the last five matches. Richards trails Bullard closely with 94 kills and has maintained an impressive .335 hitting percentage throughout the season.
• Holland is coming off her best weekend of the season after posting season-highs in four different categories at the CCSU Invitational. Holland had a combined 26 kills on 51 total attacks, while committing just six errors over the last two matches.
• Junior Anna Carroll has been right there keeping pace with the seniors. Carroll averages 2.42 kills per set and is second in total attempts. She's also one of four players on the team with double-digit service aces.
• Kelsey O'Loughlin has already earned two Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors as the starting setter for the Bison. Her 10.98 assists per set put her eighth among freshmen in the nation. Lisa Zoch has also represented the freshman class well, and leads the team with 13 service aces.
• Stark was named tournament MVP following her performance at the CCSU Invitational last weekend. The senior libero totaled 53 digs in two matches over the weekend, including a career-high 35 in the win over Central Connecticut state.
• Bucknell is currently sporting a .240 hitting percentage for the season, and has four 3-0 sweeps in its nine matches played.

Scouting the Opponents
• Delaware State is 3-8 this season, with two of those losses coming against Patriot League opponents. The Hornets defeated Siena 3-2 earlier in the season, who Bucknell also collected a win against.
• Fairleigh Dickinson is still in search of a win this season after an 0-10 start. The Knights' top returning hitter from last season is junior Magdalena Maksimovic, but freshman Mujay Mambu currently leads the team with 2.49 kills per set.
• Hampton is 4-4 this season, with one of those wins coming against St. Francis Brooklyn at the Bucknell Invitational earlier in the season. Following Hampton's trip to Lewisburg, middle blocker Genevieve Reynolds was named the Big South Conference Freshman of the Week.
Series History with the Opponents
• Bucknell is a perfect 5-0 all-time when playing Delaware State, winning all five meetings 3-0. Bucknell last defeated the Hornets in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Aug. 31 of last season.
• Bucknell is 9-3 all-time against Fairleigh Dickinson, winning each of the last three meetings. The Bison last defeated the Knights in August of 2016.
• Saturday will be the first-ever meeting between Bucknell and the Hampton Pirates. Â

• The Bison open Patriot League play Saturday, Sept. 28 with a home contest vs. Lehigh, and will host the Lafayette Leopards the following day.
