Bucknell Football Honors Fallen Soldiers, Gold Star Families

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell football team will recognize fallen soldiers and Gold Star Families by wearing special baseball hats and helmet decals for tomorrow's home opener.
A limited number of the hats will be available for fans to purchase for $25 on the day of the game, which is set to begin at 6 p.m. The Bucknell coaches will also wear their hats on the sideline during the game, which pits the Bison against No. 23/22 Villanova.Â
The team will wear helmet decals featuring a gold star in a wreath to honor the sacrifices of Gold Star Families. The decals were designed by SGM Kevin Bittenbender, who has played a pivotal role in planning Bucknell's First Responder & Hero Appreciation Night festivities.
There are many exciting promotions surrounding tomorrow's home opener, including post-game fireworks. Tickets remain available at the Campus Box Office and cost $10 for adults, $5 for children (18 and under) and $5 for seniors (62+). To purchase tickets, visit Bucknell.edu/BoxOffice or call 570-577-1000. All single-game tickets are for general admission to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.

During the pre-game Bison Stampede, Bucknell players and coaches will wear baseball hats featuring the names of fallen soldiers. Each hat includes the name of a soldier, a gold star and a block Bucknell "B" overlaid with an American flag.
