Swim & Dive Places 38 on PL Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams placed a combined 38 student-athletes on the 2019 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Tuesday.Â
Twenty one women and 17 men were recognized on this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. The men's team's number of honorees was its highest since 2012, when it led the Patriot League with 18. The women's team has now placed at least 20 student-athletes on the listing six of the past seven years.
Five of the Bison's 2019 All-Patriot League selections made the Academic Honor Roll: seniors Julie Byrne, Chadd Cummings, Charlie McFarland and Abigail Rosenberg and sophomore Maggie Wyngowski. Byrne and Rosenberg were also selected to this year's 10-woman Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Four seniors were recognized all four years of their time in Lewisburg: Byrne, McFarland, Rosenberg and Lindsay Smalec.

Of Bucknell's 38 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll members, 23, 14 women and nine men, also made the Dean's List for posting a grade point average of at least 3.50 during the 2019 spring semester. Each team had one student-athlete earn a 4.0 GPA this spring: Derek Knight, a freshman Cell Biology/Biochemistry double major, and Katherine O'Shea, a junior Early Childhood Education major.
To qualify for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 3.20 GPA during the semester in which their team competed. The following are the Bucknell swimming & diving team's 2019 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll members:Women
