Bison Notes
- Bucknell has been eliminated from postseason contention, but can still play the role of spoiler as both Lafayette and Lehigh are tied for the final spot in the Patriot League semifinals at 8-9 overall. Both Lehigh and Lafayette will still have four games to go after this weekend, due to Bucknell and Navy beginning the conference season a week before the other teams in the league.
- Bucknell is coming to the game with momentum, coming off a come-from-behind win over La Salle on Wednesday at Depew Field.
- The Bison trailed by three in the seventh inning, and by as many as four overall to the Explorers.
- The win was the Bison's second when trailing after six innings, with the other a walk-off win over Army earlier this month.
- A five-run seventh propelled the Bison to a win on Wednesday, largely due to timely hitting from freshman Will Gannon and junior shortstop Evan Madigan.
- The Bison received seven RBIs from their 7-8-9 hitters in the order, which included Jared Drizin along with the aforementioned duo.
- Gannon's two-RBI single, along with a two-RBI double from Madigan in the inning, helped Bucknell overcome a four-run deficit.
- Matt Shobe and Hunter Robichaux combined to keep the Explorers scoreless, with Robichaux earning his third save of the year in the win.
- Andrew Funovits earned his first career win in the Orange and Blue on Wednesday, and continues to sport the lowest ERA on the team (2.77).
- Robichaux isn't far behind at 3.12, with opponents hitting just .183 off of the Dallas, Texas native.
- Jack Grabek and Jeff Gottesman, who are among the seniors that will be honored on Saturday, have both quietly moved up the career strikeouts list over the season.
- Grabek is up to 173 career strikeouts, good for seventh on Bucknell's all-time list. Gottesman is close behind at 165 career K's, which ranks eighth.
- Grabek is also fourth in the Patriot League in strikeouts with 62 this season.
