LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Â The Bucknell University baseball team will take on Patriot League leader Navy in a midweek matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Depew Field.

Bison Notes
- Bucknell is coming off of a three-game home sweep at the hands of Holy Cross over the weekend.
- Tyler Wincig continued his strong junior season by belting his sixth home run of the season in game one of that series.Â
- Wincig joins JohnPaul Bell as the only active Bison to hit six or more home runs in a season.Â
- Wincig has also reached base safely in 11 straight games.
- Jared Drizin posted his first ever three-hit game in Bucknell's 13-7 loss to Holy Cross, where he went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.Â
- Dominic Toso posted a strong series against Holy Cross, hitting .556 with five hits, two doubles, and three RBIs while slugging .778.
- Toso added to his team-leading 12 multi-hit games with two over the weekend, going a combined 4-for-5 in games one and two.Â
- Brendan Lowery also provided a strong two games after coming in in game two against the Crusaders.Â
- In seven at-bats, Lowery posted three hits, two doubles, and two RBIs while slugging .714.
- None of Lowery's hits were bigger than the Randolph, N.J. native's double in the seventh inning that scored two runs and tied the game at two.Â
- Another freshman making an impact recently has been Andrew Funovits.Â
- Funovits has allowed just three hits in his last three appearances, including earning his first career save on April 9 at Towson.Â
- The native of Pittsburgh also escaped a bases-loaded-no-out jam in the top of the ninth in game three this past weekend to keep Bucknell within striking distance.Â
- Funovits now has an ERA of 1.00 in nine innings played this season.Â
- Evan Madigan posted his third career three-hit game in game two over the weekend, going three-for-four from the plate with an RBI.
- Madigan's first ever three-hit game also came against Holy Cross on April 22, 2017 in Worcester, an 11-5 Bison win when both teams were jockeying for Patriot League Tournament seeding. Â
- Marc Chernin, forced to come in unexpectedly in game two against Holy Cross as an injury replacement, responded well in game three against Holy Cross, knocking two doubles and scoring a run for his second multi-hit game of the season. His first multi-hit game came against Toledo on March 9.Â
- Tyler Wincig is second in the Patriot League in slugging percentage at .614, and is third in home runs with six.  Â
- JohnPaul Bell is fifth in the Patriot League in RBIs with 29 to date. Â
- Toso ranks sixth in overall hits with 40, and is third in doubles with 10.   Â
- Luke Hartman now has drawn 68 career walks, tied for tenth on Bucknell's all-time list.Â
- The Mids are 27-12 this season and lead the Patriot League standings by three games over Army, although the Black Knights have played four fewer games.Â
- Bucknell dropped four games in Annapolis to open the Patriot League season.
- The Bison came closest to taking one from Navy in the series finale, dropping an 11-10 heartbreaker.Â
- Alex Baumann posted a big game for the Bison in that one, going 3-for-4 from the plate with three RBIs, including a two-RBI double that brought the Bison within one in the eighth inning.Â
- Will Gannon posted two hits in that game, along with Drizin.  Â
- The Mids are led by Zach Stevens, who is hitting .366 this season overall. Navy boasts six players who are hitting .297 or higher, including Christian Hodge, who leads the league in RBIs with 41. Navy also leads the league in hitting as a unit at .280.  Â
- The Bison will play a three-game set at Lehigh on Saturday and Sunday.Â
