Men's Tennis Beats Mount St. Mary's for Sixth Win in Eight Matches

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's tennis beat Mount St. Mary's 4-0 in a non-conference match Wednesday night at the Varsity Courts, winning for the sixth time in eight matches to improve to 10-11 on the season.
"I was really proud of their effort after arriving home late after last night's match," Bucknell head coach Bruce Myers said. "To play an afternoon match with just six guys after that is amazing."
The Bison won at the top three singles spots to clinch the win, starting with a 6-1, 6-3 victory by Max McDonald on court two.
Bucknell's other singles victories came in three sets. Ethan Jacobs was a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (5) winner on court one, while Marwan Abaza prevailed 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 on court three.
The doubles point came with shutout wins from Andrei Vitiuc/Ryan Jurist (court two) and Cooper Bradshaw/Jacobs (court three).
Mount St. Mary's dropped to 4-17 overall.
Bucknell has won three consecutive matches in a span of four days. The Bison will have one day off before returning to action with a big league match at Colgate on Friday at 4 p.m.
