Men's Track and Field Performs Well at Raleigh Relays, Jim Taylor Invite

RALEIGH, N.C.—The Bucknell University men's track and field team competed in two different meets on Saturday, the Raleigh Relays and the Jim Taylor Invite.
In Raleigh, Billy Melchionni earned an IC4A-qualifying time of 21.80 to finish in 13th in a tough field in the 200-meter dash.
Aidan Krombolz posted a strong throw in the javelin, placing sixth with an IC4A-qualifying throw of 202-2. Jordan Montero also posted an IC4A standard in the event after throwing 195-9.
Scott Gulizio crossed the finish line in 12th in the 800 with a time of 1:52.35, an IC4A-qualifying time.
In the hammer throw, C.J. Falcioni posted a 17th-place finish after a throw of 173-5, good for IC4A qualification.
Reggie Harris earned an eighth-place finish in the triple jump after a jump of 46-3-1/2.
In the long jump, Micah Sims placed 22nd with a jump of 21-2.
At the Jim Taylor Invite, Riley Gardner took a first place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase after running a time of 9:51.62. The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Ryquan Harris, Steve Rizio, Kevin Boyle, and Matthew Barton also took first place with a time of 43.19.
Rizio placed second in the 400 with a time of 49.60, followed closely behind by Robert Dessoye at 49.67, both just shy of the IC4A standard of 49.20. Sean Conway was fifth with a 51.22.
The 4x400 team of Rizio, Barton, Brendan Bodisch, and Wade Heidel took second with a time of 3:26.18.
Ian Lawrence was second in the high jump after clearing 6-2 ¾. David Kelly took third in the pole vault after clearing 13-9 ¼.
Steven Bolger was third in the long jump after leaping 22-3 ¾. Hayden Lindsey was second in the shot put, with Zach Ruiz placing third. Will Briggs took third in the discus at 152-5.
Also in the field, Mark Coppolino took fourth in the hammer after a throw of 164-0.
In the 800, freshman Owen Chase finished in fifth with a time of 1:57.13.
Ben Littman placed sixth in the 5000 with a time of 16:05.03.
Jack Memoli placed fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.37, with Matthew Barton close behind in fifth with a 15.54.
Barton also posted a strong finish in the 400 hurdles finishing in second place with a time of 56.15.
The Bison will head to the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va. From Thursday, April 4- Saturday, April 6.
