Slagus Named Bison Athlete of the Week After Leading Bison to Patriot League Title

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Kaitlyn Slagus has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week after leading the Bucknell women's basketball team to the Patriot League title with wins over Loyola (Md.), Holy Cross, and American last week.
Slagus was voted the Patriot League Tournament MVP following a championship game in which she totaled 23 points and seven rebounds in a 66-54 victory over American. She averaged 15.0 points and 6.7 rebounds for the tournament.
Bucknell earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with its Patriot League title. The Bison received a No. 12 seed and will play No. 5 seed Florida State on Friday at 4 p.m. The game will be played at Halton Arena in Charlotte.
Slagus is the second Bucknell player to be voted Patriot League Tournament MVP in the last three seasons. Claire DeBoer received the award after leading Bucknell to the league title in 2017.
