LEWISBURG, Pa. – Freshman Maddie Hartigan won a gold medal in the 1,650 freestyle to help the Bucknell women's swimming & diving team place third at the Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships, which wrapped up on Saturday at Kinney Natatorium.
Bolstered by eight medal-winning performances, the Bison finished the four-day event with 482 points. Hartigan, who was also the runner-up in Thursday's 500 freestyle, was one of three Bison to medal in an individual event, joining Julie Byrne and Maggie Wyngowski. Byrne was second in Saturday's 200 backstroke and third in Thursday's 200 IM while Wyngowski swam to a runner-up showing in the 400 IM for the second year in a row on Friday.Â
