LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's cross country team earned two members of the Academic All-Patriot League team, the league announced on Wednesday morning.
Seniors Drew Dorflinger and Jake Stupak each earned nods to the team, with Dorflinger earning a spot on the team for the first time in his career. Stupak earns his first bid in cross country, after he was selected to the All-Academic Team in track and field.
Dorflinger became the fourth All-Patriot League First Team selection for the Bison since 2014, joining Will Bordash (7th, 2017) Andrew Garcia-Garrison (3rd, 2014), and Michael McGowan (2nd, 2014). His runner-up finish was the highest finish by a Bison runner since McGowan's runner-up effort in 2014, and just the third runner since 2000 for Bucknell to finish either first or second at the Patriot League Championships. Dorflinger earned his first-ever Patriot League accolades at the meet.
Stupak earned Second Team All-Patriot League for the second consecutive season after finishing 13th in 2018. The native of Wexford, Pa. also earned qualification into the NCAA Preliminary round in the 1500 in May.
The Bison have earned a selection to the All-Patriot League academic team each year since 2014, with 2014 the last time Bucknell has had more than one selection to the All-Academic Team (John Dugan, Michael McGowan)
The Bison will now turn their attention to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet on Friday, Nov. 15 at Lehigh.
