LEWISBURG, Pa. – For the second time in three weeks, Leah Fogelsanger has been named the Patriot League's field hockey Offensive Player of the Week. Fogelsanger scored twice in Saturday's win over Holy Cross, helping the Bison qualify for the Patriot League tournament.
Fogelsanger's first goal was scored just two minutes into the first quarter, catching a pass from Megan Keeney and flicking it past the Crusader's goalkeeper to take an early lead. Her second goal was scored from the top of the circle 20 minutes later to give the Bison a 2-0 lead.
It was the second time this season that Fogelsanger has notched multiple goals in a game, and it was her fourth goal over the past four games. Fogelsanger is now tied for first on the team with seven goals this season. The junior also has two assists on the year, giving her a team-high 16 points.
Fogelsanger and the Bison will play the first round of the Patriot League tournament against Lafayette on Friday. Friday's game will be hosted by American, and the action is set to begin at 2:30 p.m.
