About the Bison
- Bucknell is coming off a 3-0 weekend on the road, picking up wins over No. 14 George Washington, Navy, and Johns Hopkins.
- The win over the 14th-ranked Colonials marks the highest-ranked opponent Bucknell has defeated since an 8-7 win over then No. 9 Princeton on Oct 15, 2016.
- In Bucknell's first game of the weekend, the Bison scored the most goals by the team this season in a 23-14 win over Johns Hopkins.
- The 23 goals by the team were the most since a 24-8 win over Washington & Jefferson on Sept. 15, 2018, and the most by the team at a road or neutral venue since a 24-4 win over Connecticut College on Nov. 18, 2016.
- Bucknell followed that game up with a one-goal win over Navy on Saturday, the second game Bucknell has won by one goal this season (20-19 over No. 16 Cal Baptist on Sept. 7). The win was also Bucknell's sixth win this season in games decided by five goals or fewer.
- Cooper Dolan scored Bucknell's eventual game-winning goal in that one on the way to a three-goal game. Bucknell had a balanced scoring attack in the win over the Mids, with Rade Joksimovic, Jack Lewis, and Dolan each scoring three times, while Jared Stanley chipped in the other two tallies.
- Bucknell used an 8-1 start to outlast the 14th-ranked Colonials, continuing the trend of strong opening periods for Bucknell this season. Bucknell has scored 64 goals in the first quarter this season, 11 more than any other period, while limiting opponents to just 31 goals in the opening stanza.
- Joksimovic, who has already become the second player to reach 600 career points and the all-time steals leader at Bucknell, is now at 452 career goals for the Orange and Blue. With 48 more goals, Joksimovic will become just the second player in Bucknell history with 500 career goals, behind Scott Schulte's 586. Joksimovic's 620 career points is also second on the list behind Schulte's 842. Additionally, Joksimovic has now moved into sixth on the all-time assists list with 168, nine shy of passing Sean Tierney for a place in the top five. Schulte also holds the lead in that category with 256 career helpers.
- Head Coach John McBride became the all-time wins leader between the men and women's programs on Sept. 15 in Bucknell's 11-6 win against Brown. McBride, who has compiled six more victories since that win, now has picked up 280 total wins between both programs, passing John Zeigler (273) for the most all-time. McBride needs 17 wins on the women's side (123) to pass Zeigler (139) for the most all-time, and is 66 victories shy (157) of tying Dick Russell for the most wins on the men's side (223).
- The Head Coach of Bucknell water polo since May 18, 2011, McBride has led the team to above .500 records in each of his seasons in charge, and holds the second-highest win percentage (.654) in team history behind Dick Russell (.763).
- The senior class of Cullen Jacuzzi, Rade Joksimovic, Cooper Dolan, and Logan Schofield provided a big spark in Bucknell's win over the Blue Jays.
- The quartet combined for 16 of Bucknell's 23 goals, and combined for 23 points overall. Schofield provided a season-best six goals, while also adding six ejections drawn, three of which led to penalty shots for the Bison.
- Dolan is now up to 101 appearances for Bucknell, and needs 13 more appearances to move into the top 12 all-time at Bucknell.
- Maumee, Ohio native Schofield has now moved solely into second place in the Bucknell record books with 237 career ejections drawn, 75 behind all-time leader Jack Else.
- Bucknell finished 9-for-9 on powerplay opportunities against the Blue Jays, and converted 60.5 percent of its shots.
- Freshman goalkeeper Adrien Touzot is 6-0 in the six games he has started this season so far.
- Bucknell defeated Wagner 17-5 on Sept. 22 in its home pool, thanks in large part to a 14-1 run that helped the Bison break open a close game early on.
- Joksimovic posted a season-best ten points in that game on seven goals and three assists.
- Touzot posted a career-high 20 saves in that game, just his second career start.
- Bucknell is 7-1 against the Seahawks all-time.
- Bucknell defeated St. Francis Brooklyn, 13-10, at the Bruno Classic on Sept. 8, taking a 13-10 win over the Terriers after initially falling behind 4-2.
- Schofield drew six ejections in that game, while Joksimovic scored three times and added three assists.
- Bucknell is 9-33 all-time against St. Francis Brooklyn, having won three out of the past five matchups.
- Bucknell defeated MIT on Sept. 7 in the season opener on Sept. 7 at the Bruno Classic, 15-9
- Bucknell used a 5-0 run to end the first period to take a 6-4 lead and eventually a 15-9 win.
- Vlasceanu led the way with five goals, while Jacuzzi found the back of the cage twice.
- Bucknell is 18-1 all-time against MIT, with the only loss coming in 2003 at the Eastern Championship.
- Harvard is a perfect 14-0 this year, and has not lost a match at home since the Bison picked up a big 17-16 win in Cambridge on Oct. 13, 2018.
- Jack Otto made a big save in that game to deny the Crimson a late equalizer as the Bison held on to defeat the then tenth-ranked Crimson.
- Dolan scored the eventual game-winning goal with 1:30 on the clock to break the 16-16 tie.
- Bucknell is 21-11 against the Crimson all-time
Bucknell will travel out west to the Julian Fraser Memorial for four games in San Jose and Santa Clara, Calif.
