LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell field hockey's Allie Christopher has been named the Patriot League's Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Bison to an 8-2 win over Lehigh on Saturday. It was the Bison's highest-scoring game against a Patriot League opponent in school history.
Christopher pulled off her first career hat trick in the win with goals in the first, second, and fourth quarters against the Mountain Hawks, scoring on all three shots she attempted in the game.
Christopher's first goal came on a penalty corner eight minutes into the game when the Bison held a 1-0 lead. The senior converted on another corner attempt with under four minutes to play in the first half to give her team a 6-1 lead. Her third was scored with under four minutes remaining in the contest after the Bison were awarded a penalty stroke.
The three goals nearly doubled Christopher's career total and pushed her season mark to five, which currently ranks second on the Bison's roster. The Saint Louis, Mo. native also has two assists on the year.
Christopher and the Bison are back in action this evening with a 5 p.m. game at Yale. The team then takes on Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. tomorrow.
