Men's Track and Field Concludes Day One of Bison Open, Penn State National

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's track and field team had several strong performances Friday as the team participated in the Bison Open and Multi and the Penn State National Open.

"We had several good performances today." said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "Fay tied his personal best to finish fourth in the pole vault, and Harris had some good jumps to make finals in the triple jump."
At Penn State, Matt Fay and Nicholas Marino finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with Fay tying his personal best after clearing 16-4 ¾, the second-highest mark in school history. Marino finished just behind Fay in fifth after clearing 15-7.
Reggie Harris also posted a strong day for the Bison, leaping 46-10 1/4 in the triple jump to qualify for finals and finish fifth overall.
Jeff Brown qualified for the semi-finals in the 60, running a 6.88 in the first round to qualify for the semifinals before clocking a 6.93 in the semifinals to just narrowly miss a spot in the top eight.
Brendan O'Toole finished in 15th in the 5000m run, clocking in a 15:23.27.
C.J. Falcioni finished 19th in a field of 37 competitors after throwing 54-10 ¾ in the weight throw.
At the Bison Open and Multi, Billy Melchionni finished second in the 200, running a 22.56, while Kevin Boyle finished eighth in the event after running a 22.94. Matthew Barton earned a third-place finish in the 60 hurdles after clocking in with a time of 8.42.
The Bison return to action Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at both Penn State and Gerhard Fieldhouse.
