Slagus Named PL Player of the Week for Second Time This Season

The Senior Averaged 18.0 Points and 7.0 Rebounds in a Pair of Wins
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Kaitlyn Slagus was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Bucknell women's basketball team to league wins over Army West Point and Lafayette last week. Both wins came on the road as the Bison improved to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in the Patriot League.
Slagus averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the two wins, highlighted by a game-high 20 points in addition to six rebounds in a 56-47 victory over Lafayette. She scored 18 points in the second half to help Bucknell pull away after the teams played to a 20-20 tie after two quarters.
Slagus opened the week with a 16-point, eight-rebound performance in a 66-52 win at Army West Point. She and the rest of the senior class improved to 6-1 against Army West Point during their careers and 7-0 against Lafayette.
Bucknell has won three Patriot League Player of the Week awards this season, including two by Slagus and one by Abby Kapp. Slagus has earned the honor nine times during her career.
The Bison will host Lehigh (12-4, 3-1 PL) on Wednesday at Sojka Pavilion. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
