Aces Not Enough as Volleyball Falls at Holy Cross

The Bison Tallied Seven Aces in a Losing Effort
WORCESTER, Mass. – Juniors Sophie Bullard and Brooke Stark served for three aces apiece, but Bucknell fell 3-0 to an upstart Holy Cross team in a Patriot League volleyball match Friday night at Hart Gym.
Junior Mimi Richards led the Bison with seven kills, while Bullard contributed five kills and eight digs.
The Bison finished with seven aces, their most since tallying eight in a 3-0 win over Niagara on Sept. 9. In addition to Bullard and Stark, sophomore Alexa Bonanno had one ace.
Bucknell dropped to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in the Patriot League.
Clare Honan paced Holy Cross with 14 kills and an .867 hitting percentage. She added two solo blocks and one block assist.
The Crusaders improved to 3-13 overall, but have come on as of late with a 2-1 record in the Patriot League. They also have a win over Colgate.
Bucknell will head to Hamilton, New York, to take on Colgate on Saturday at 5 p.m. The Raiders are 7-8 overall and 2-1 in the Patriot League following back-to-back shutout wins over Army West Point and Lafayette.
