The Bison Duo is 8-0 During the Fall Season
RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Paige Leavy and sophomore Cayla Koch went 4-0, including a win in the championship match on Sunday, to win the Flight 1 doubles title at the Bison Invite. The duo remained unbeaten this fall, improving to 8-0 through two tournaments.
Leavy and Koch add the Bison Invite title to the title they won at the Bucknell Fall Invite two weeks ago. They hadn't played as a doubles team prior to that tournament.
After posting three wins in the first two days of the tournament, Leavy and Koch clinched the title with an 8-3 victory over Villanova's Claudia Althans and Lindsey Evans. Three of their wins on their way to the first-place finish came against teams from Villanova, a school that gave the Bison trouble at this event a year ago.
Koch was the runner-up in Flight 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-2 loss to Althans on Sunday. She went 3-1 at the tournament and is 5-2 during the fall season.
Leavy battled back to win the consolation draw in Flight 1, while sophomore Sofia Ayuso did the same in Flight 2.
The Bison will play at the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Sept. 28-30.
