Willwerth and Olson Receive Weekly Awards for Field Hockey

The Bison Are 1-0 in League Play after a 6-0 Win at Colgate
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell field hockey team picked up two more weekly awards from the Patriot League on Monday, fueled by a 6-0 win at Colgate in the conference opener for both teams. Senior Sally Olson was selected as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, while Brittany Willwerth was named the Offensive Player of the Week and the Bison Athlete of the Week.
Olson tallied an assist and contributed to the defensive effort as Bucknell recorded its second shutout in the past four games in the win over Colgate. The Bison held the Raiders to just six total shots and only three on goal.
Bucknell has won each of the last three Defensive Player of the Week awards. Lexi Quick won the previous two.
Willwerth recorded her second career hat-trick and added an assist in the win over the Raiders. She was the first Bison player to record a hat-trick since she accomplished the feat in an 8-0 win over LIU Brooklyn last season.
Up next for the Bison is a Patriot League game at Lehigh on Saturday at 11 a.m.
