LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior Katie Childers earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Women's Golf Team on Thursday. Childers recently finished in a tie for fifth place at the 2018 Patriot League Championship, which put her on the All-Patriot League Team for the first time in her career.
Childers was one of five players named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team. She was joined by Boston University's Phyllis Tang, Lehigh's Reagan Jahn, Richmond's Annie Collom, and Navy's Morgan Frazier, who was named Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Childers posted rounds of 79-75-82 at the conference championship at the Naval Academy Golf Club, and she was in contention for medalist honors. Her 3-over-par 75 in the second round was her best score of the season, bettering a couple of 76s from the fall.
Childers played in all 10 of the team's events in the fall and spring seasons, and her stroke average of 81.4 was the second-best on the squad. She tallied 11 rounds in the 70s.
Off the golf course, Childers majors in biomedical engineering and has a stellar 3.67 cumulative grade-point average.
Bucknell's season is now complete after finishing fourth at the Patriot League Championship.
