The Bucknell women's rowing team will compete on the Cooper River for the third time this spring when it takes to the water on Saturday morning for the Cherry Hill Invitational. Heats begin at 7:30 a.m., with petite and grand finals slated for 8:50 a.m.
The Bison will be represented in seven different events, with three varsity eights, two varsity fours and two novice eights in action. Other teams competing will be Rutgers, Connecticut, Jacksonville, Georgetown, Marist, Fordham, SMU, MIT, Holy Cross and Lehigh.
Early this season, Bucknell competed at the Cooper Sprints and the Cooper Invitational, showing significant improvement from the first outing to the second. At the Cooper Invitational, the Bison second and third varsity eights placed first, while the varsity eight was second to Marist. Bucknell will send out fours for the first time this spring.
After this week's event, the Bison will host Villanova for a scrimmage and Senior Day festivities on Sunday, Apr. 29. The Patriot League Championships will be held on May 11 on the Cooper River.
