Women's Water Polo Hosts Mercyhurst on Senior Day

No. 25 Bucknell at a Glance
• The Bison are currently 10-12 (0-0 CWPA) and ranked No. 25 in the CWPA poll. They went 2-1 last weekend, recording their first overtime win of the season over George Washington (8-7) and downing Saint Francis in commanding fashion (15-9). Their loss came to then No. 13 Indiana by a tight 11-8 decision.
• Bucknell is ranked for the first time since the week of Jan. 28. The Bison, who have since consistently received votes, were then slotted in a tie for 25th with Brown.
• A year ago, Bucknell went 14-18 (2-6 CWPA) and placed sixth at the CWPA Championship.
• In the CWPA preseason poll, the Bison were selected to finish sixth. Michigan, Indiana and Hatwick were tabbed as the top three teams.
• Emily Konishi currently leads Bucknell with 63 points behind team-best totals of goals (30) and assists (33). Colleen Barron (25g-16a) and Ally Furano (27g-7a) round out the top-three point producers.
• Shyla Lintz has drawn a team-best 36 ejections while Konishi leads the Bison with 27 steals.
• In net, Manuela Herrera has started 21 games, making 154 saves. With 536 career saves, she stands fifth in school history; the four Bison ahead of her in the record book all made at least 700 saves.
• Konishi owns 230 career points on 107 goals and 123 assists. Her assist total is good for eighth in school history, one outside of seventh and five shy of fifth. She needs 27 more points to crack Bucknell's top 10.
• Marta Considine netted her 100th career goal during March 25's win over Saint Francis. Two of her teammates have already surpassed this career milestone: Barron (119) and Konishi (107). Barron's total is 15 outside of Bucknell's top 15.
Bucknell Celebrates Seniors
• Before Saturday's contest, the Bison will recognize seniors Colleen Barron, Marta Considine, Manuela Herrera and Shyla Lintz for their contributions to the program.
• Barron and Considine have been strong offensive presences for Bucknell, combining to net 219 goals. The versatile Lintz has contributed both offensively and defensively, drawing 138 ejections and adding 85 goals. Herrera is one of five Bison who made at least 500 career saves.
• The quartet has also excelled in the classroom, recording a combined GPA of 3.44. All four have earned ACWPC All-Academic laurels.
Mercyhurst at a Glance
• Mercyhurst is currently 5-6 (0-0 WWPA) on the season.
• The Lakers have lost five of their past seven games, including two to the CWPA's Hatwick. They are set to host Penn State Behrend on Thursday night before they face the Bison.
• Bucknell holds a 16-1 lead over Mercyhurst in the all-time series, which dates back to 2008.
• The Bison have won their past 13 games against the Lakers. Mercyhurst last defeated Bucknell in 2011, a 13-10 victory in Erie, Pa.
• In 2017, the Bison downed the Lakers at the Bison Invitational (12-3) and the Mercyhurst Invitational (17-5). Their 17 goals at the Mercyhurst Invitational was their highest total of the season.

• The Bison begin CWPA action on April 7-8 with games against Hatwick (April 7, 10:15 a.m.), Michigan (April 7, 4:30 p.m.), Saint Francis (April 8, 8 a.m.) and Indiana (April 8, 2:15 p.m.) in Cambridge, Mass.
