Bucknell at a Glance
• The Bison are currently 8-10 (0-0 CWPA) and received votes in the CWPA poll. They most recently competed at the Aztec Invitational, where they went 1-3. Their three losses came to ranked opponents.
• A year ago, Bucknell went 14-18 (2-6 CWPA) and placed sixth at the CWPA Championship.
• In the CWPA preseason poll, the Bison were selected to finish sixth. Michigan, Indiana and Hatwick were tabbed as the top three teams.
• Emily Konishi currently leads Bucknell with 54 points (24g-30a). Colleen Barron (19g-14a) and Kali Hyham (25g-3a) round out the top three. Hyham is the leading goal scorer while Konishi has paced Bucknell in assists.
• Shyla Lintz has drawn a team-best 33 ejections while Konishi leads Bucknell with 21 steals.
• In net, Manuela Herrera has started 17 games, making 105 saves. With 487 career saves, she stands fifth in school history.
• Konishi now owns 221 career points on 101 goals and 120 assists. Her assist total is good for eighth in school history, four outside of seventh. She needs 36 more points to crack Bucknell's top 10.
• Konishi netted the 100th goal of her collegiate goal against San Diego State on March 11. Marta Considine needs just six goals to reach this milestone while fellow senior Barron has scored 113 over the course of her career, a total 21 outside of Bucknell's top 15.
No. 15 Long Beach State at a Glance
• Long Beach State is currently 8-9 (1-0 Big West) on the season and ranked No. 15 in the CWPA poll.
• The Beach has been ranked as high as No. 6 nationally. In February's second week, the team fell out of the nation's top 10.
• After losing nine of its first 10 games, the Beach has won seven of its past eight, including three in a row entering its game against the Bison.
• Long Beach State holds an 11-0 lead in the all-time series with Bucknell. The series dates back to 1999.
• The Bison and Beach met earlier this season at the Wolverine Invitational. There, then No. 17 Long Beach State outscored Bucknell, 4-0, in the second half to turn a 6-5 halftime deficit into a 9-6 victory. Six different Bison found the back of the net during that game while Manuela Herrera finished with eight saves.
A Look Ahead
• The Bison begin CWPA play in Loretto, Pa. During conference play's opening weekend, they will face Indiana (March 24, 2:30 p.m.), George Washington (March 24, 7:30 p.m.) and St. Francis (Pa.) (March 25, 2 p.m.).
