About the Bison/Last Time Out
- Bucknell returns to action after competing at the Patriot League Indoor Championships.
- The Bison finished third, turning in their best team finish since placing second in 2015, capped off by an exhilarating 4x400 relay that took gold with a time of 3:18.30. Alex Dessoye ran the third leg of the race and also earned silver in the 400-meter dash (49.59) to take home Patriot League Rookie of The Meet accolades. Other members of the 4x400 were Steve Rizio, Robert Dessoye, and Billy Melchionni. All earned First Team honors for their efforts.
- Nicholas Lombardo was crowned Patriot League champion in the long jump, leaping 24-01 ¾. The Darien, Connecticut, native also took second in the high jump (6-8 ¼) and seventh in the triple jump (45-08), earning both First Team and Second Team accolades.
- Junior Matthew Fay set a new personal best in the pole vault, clearing 16-4 ¾ to earn a bronze medal and move up to second on Bucknell's top-10 list. Nicholas Marino took sixth in the same event, vaulting 15-9.
- Sean Conway, who was one of just 10 track and field athletes to be named to the PL All-Academic team as announced by the league on Monday, placed third in the 500-meter run (1:05.47), and also ran the second leg of the distance medley relay to earn bronze in both events. He anchored the fifth-place 4x800 relay.
- After breaking the school record in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.81, Jeffrey Brown wound up finishing fourth in the finals of the 60 by clocking a 6.88. The sophomore also placed eighth in the 200m by crossing the finish line in an IC4A-qualifying 22.23. Billy Melchionni (10th) and Alex Dessoye (13th) also hit the IC4A standard.
- Freshman Owen Concaugh earned a point for Bucknell by taking eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.28.
- Nick Pacelli (4th, 2:29.97) and Scott Gulizio (6th, 2:31.36) combined to score eight points for the Bison.
Last Year at IC4A Championships
- The Bison men earned All-East honors in five events last season, while overall placing 14th among 52 schools with 23 points.
