RESULTS
VIRGINIA BEACH – Max McDonald and Andrei Vitiuc went 2-0 Friday to advance to the championship match of the doubles draw at the Virginia Beach Clay Court Championships.
McDonald and Vitiuc opened with a 4-0, 5-3 win in the quarterfinal round, and followed that with a 4-2, 4-0 win in the semifinal match.
On the other side of the draw, Max Garramone and Alex Pedrazzini went 1-1. They advanced in the quarterfinal round with a 4-2, 4-1 victory before falling 5-4, 1-4, 1-0 (10-3) in the semifinals.
"It was a solid day for the guys today," Bucknell head coach Bruce Myers said. "We normally do not compete on clay courts so it was a nice change of pace. We're looking forward to singles and the doubles final tomorrow."
