Women's Swim & Dive Faces Three Patriot League Opponents on Saturday

Setting the Scene
What: Bucknell (3-0, 1-0 PL) hosts American (3-1, 0-1 PL), Lafayette (0-1, 0-1 PL) and Navy (5-1, 0-0 PL)
When: Saturday, November 3 – 11 a.m. diving/12 p.m. swimming

Bucknell at a Glance
• Bucknell is currently 3-0 (1-0 Patriot League) on the season after dispatching Johns Hopkins, 182-112, on Oct. 20. The Bison used 31 top-three finishes to down the Blue Jays, with Maddie Hartigan (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle), Maggie Wyngowski (200 breaststroke, 400 IM), Julie Byrne (200 backstroke), Jessica Hurlburt (1-meter dive), Abigail Rosenberg (100 freestyle), Paige Schoelkopf (3-meter dive) and Lindsay Smalec (100 butterfly) capturing individual titles.
• Wyngowski has started strong as a sophomore, winning two events in each of Bucknell's first three meets. To date, she boasts two first-place finishes in the 400 IM and one victory in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 100 IM and 200 IM.
• In 2017-18, the Bison went 6-3 (4-2 Patriot League) in dual meets. They posted their most overall and conference wins since 2014-15, when they went 7-4 (4-3 Patriot League).
• Bucknell went on to place fourth (423 points) at the 10-team Patriot League Championships and third (309 points) at the 24-team ECAC Championships.
• Wyngowski (1st), Julianna Foss (1st), Emma Hadley (2nd) and Smalec (2nd) were Bucknell's 2018 All-Patriot League honorees. In addition, Wyngowski became the second Bison to be named the Rookie of the Patriot League Championships.
• Of Bucknell's 2018 All-Patriot League selections, only Foss was lost to graduation. The Bison also returned 2017 All-Patriot League picks Rosenberg (1st), Hadley (1st) and Byrne (2nd).
• Two school-record holders are on the 2018-19 roster: Rosenberg (100 freestyle, 50.42; 200 freestyle, 1:48.29) and Wyngowski (200 breaststroke, 2:14.98; 400 IM, 4:17.80).
• Returnees Byrne (200 medley), Emily Gorham (200 freestyle, 800 freestyle), Hadley (400 medley), Smalec (400 medley, 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle) and Rosenberg (400 medley, 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle) were members of school record setting relay teams.
• The program welcomed 11 newcomers in 2018-19. They hail from nine different states: Pennsylvania (3), Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Virginia.

• American is currently 3-1 (0-1 Patriot League) on the season. The Eagles defeated Howard and Manhattan in their most recent meet on Oct. 12.
• American took eighth at the 2018 Patriot League Championships with 172 points.
• Bucknell holds a 13-1 lead in the all-time series against American and has won the past 12 meetings dating back to 2003.
• Last year, the Bison routed the Eagles, 221-77, during their quad meet against them, Lafayette and Navy on Nov. 4 at Kinney Natatorium.

• Lafayette is currently 0-1 (0-1 Patriot League) on the season. The Leopards were dispatched by Loyola, 179-106, in their most recent meet on Oct. 20.

• Bucknell holds a 36-2-2 lead in the all-time series against Lafayette and has won nine of the past 10 meetings.

Navy at a Glance/Series History
• Navy is currently 5-1 (0-0 Patriot League) on the season. The Midshipmen's lone loss came to high-powered LSU; they most recently swept Johns Hopkins (239-53), Towson (192.5-107.5) and William & Mary (203-91) at home on Oct. 19.
• Navy won its seventh-straight Patriot League title in 2018, totaling 904.5 points. The Mids went on to take first at the 21-team ECAC Championships.
• Navy returns Lauren Barber, who won seven events at both the 2018 and 2017 Patriot League Championships. The 2018 and 2017 Patriot League Swimmer of the Year and 2016 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, she competed in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 IM at the 2018 NCAA Championships.
• Navy leads the all-time series against Bucknell, 14-7, and has won 11 of the past 12 meetings. The Bison last defeated the Mids in 2013, a tight 159.5-140.5 decision.
• Last year, the Mids toppled the Bison, 177.5-120.5, during their quad meet against them, American and Lafayette on Nov. 4 at Kinney Natatorium.
