The Bison Played the Top Two Teams in the Conference this Weekend

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Bucknell volleyball concluded a tough weekend slate with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17) loss to first-place American on Sunday at Bender Arena. The Bison played the top two teams in the conference on back-to-back days, including a match at second-place Navy on Saturday.

American remained unbeaten in league play at 10-0 while upping its overall record to 15-9. Bucknell dropped to 6-15 overall and 1-9 in the conference.

Senior Blake Buchholz finished with five kills and five digs, while Sophie Bullard tallied four kills and six digs. Junior Mimi Richards contributed five kills and four total blocks.

Bullard has two aces, giving her five over the two matches this weekend.

Aleksandra Kazala led American with 13 kills and seven digs. Shannon Webb put up similar numbers with 12 kills and eight digs.

The Bison are home for their next two matches. They will host Colgate on Friday and Holy Cross on Saturday.
