Women's Swim & Dive Downs Johns Hopkins, 182-112

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming & diving team dropped Johns Hopkins, 182-112, on Saturday at Kinney Natatorium.
Seven individuals and one relay team combined to win 10 events to lift the Bison to 3-0 (1-0 Patriot League) on the young season. Once again, Maddie Hartigan and Maggie Wyngowski led the way, each winning two events.
Hartigan touched the wall first in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle while Wyngowski outraced the field in the 200 breaststroke and 400 IM. In addition, Julie Byrne (200 backstroke), Jessica Hurlburt (1-meter dive), Abigail Rosenberg (100 freestyle), Paige Schoelkopf (3-meter dive) and Lindsay Smalec (100 butterfly) captured individual crowns.
In total, Bucknell scored 31 top-three finishes. Wyngowski (3), Byrne (2), Rosenberg (2), Alexis Faria (2), Emma Hadley (2), Hartigan (2), Hurlburt (2), Schoelkopf (2), Alaina Schumann (2), Lindsay Smalec (2) and Mary Weinstein (2) all enjoyed multiple top-three finishes in individual events.
Hartigan, Rosenberg, Katherine O'Shea and Maura McManus teamed for a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, the final event of the meet, to put an exclamation mark on a commanding team effort.
Wyngowski has now won at least two events in Bucknell's first three meets. Hartigan also scored a pair of victories against Boston University and Richmond a week ago.
After having a week off, Bucknell returns to Kinney Natatorium on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 12 p.m. for a quad meet against Patriot League foes American, Lafayette and Navy.
