The Bison Will Play at Army West Point on Sunday Afternoon

BALTIMORE, Md. – Bucknell volleyball began a tough weekend of travel with a 3-1 (12-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-11) loss to Loyola (Md.) in a Patriot League match Saturday at Reitz Arena.

The Bison, who now have to make the trip from Baltimore to West Point N.Y., for a 2 p.m. match Sunday against Army, dropped to 6-12 overall and 1-6 in the Patriot League. The Greyhounds, the most improved team in the league, upped their record to 9-11 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

Junior Bridgette Holland had a solid match for Bucknell, finishing with seven kills, a .500 hitting percentage, and two blocks. Freshman Jennie Burke, junior Mimi Richards, junior Sophie Bullard, and sophomore Delanie Lewis had six kills apiece.

Bucknell dominated the first set on its way to a 25-12 win. Senior Blake Buchholz led the way with four kills and two digs.

The Bison tallied five total blocks. Richards contributed a team-high three block assists.

Ann Ernst led the Greyhounds with 16 kills and 18 digs. Haley Puddy finished with 12 kills, while Abby Hamilton added 10.

Bucknell's match at Army West Point will be played at Gillis Field House. The Black Knights are 7-13 overall and 2-5 in the Patriot League after losses to Loyola, Navy, and American.
