Men's Cross Country Competes at Paul Short Run

Matt Vira Was the Fastest Runner for the Bison
RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Matt Vira finished 76th out of 367 runners to lead Bucknell at Lehigh's Paul Short Run on Saturday. The race was held at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
Vira completed the 8k course in 26:27. Rounding out Bucknell's top five runners were Scott Gulizio (138th), Landin Delaney (153rd), Matthew Cervon (169th), and Brian Babyak (204th).
"Vira ran a great race and I thought Gulizio ran well," Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner said. "Those two have a chance to make an impact with our varsity guys."
The individual race was won by Binghamton's Dan Schaffer in 24:37. Siena's Evans Kibet was the runner-up with a time of 24:43.
Queens University had two runners in the top 10 and won the team title with a score of 72. Cornell (126) and Stony Brook (164) followed in second and third. Forty-four teams participated in the race.
Bucknell was 28th with a score of 727. The Bison finished one spot behind VCU and one ahead of Temple.
The Bison will next run at the Penn State National Open on Friday, Oct. 12.
