Women's Basketball Play4Kay Game Set for Feb. 15 at Sojka Pavilion
2/7/2017 9:18:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Bucknell women's basketball is set to play its annual Play4Kay game on Wednesday, Feb. 15 vs. Loyola at 6 p.m. The game is a bigger part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) connection to the Kay Yow Foundation in memory of the late North Carolina State Hall-of-Fame coach, Kay Yow.
During Coach Yow's battle with cancer she became inspired to do more and believed that uniting players and coaches around the world to raise money by playing a simple game would aid in cancer research, honor survivors and serve the underserved. Fans are encouraged to support the cause by wearing pink apparel to the game. T-shirts ($15) and a limited number of jerseys ($30) and shorts ($20) will be available at the game.
Bucknell and the Evangelical Community Hospital have worked together to celebrate women cancer survivors at halftime of the game on Feb. 15. Any survivors interested in attending the game are being offered a complimentary ticket for themselves and an additional two tickets for guests. If interested, please contact Jourdan Semmel at 570.577.3550 or jks029@bucknell.edu.
