Women's Water Polo Ranked 22nd Nationally in Preseason Poll

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's water polo season is still a few weeks away, but the Bison are ranked 22nd nationally in the national preseason poll, which was released Friday by the Collegiate Water Polo Association. Bucknell finished the 2016 season ranked 20th in the country and concluded the campaign with a strong 18-15 record.
Bucknell, which is in the midst of a training trip to Barbados this week, opens its 2017 campaign Feb. 4 at Brown's Bruno Classic. The Bison will face Azusa Pacific, McKendree College and Marist on the opening weekend of play. Bucknell opens its home schedule with the Bison Invitational Feb. 10-12.
Bucknell's 18 victories last spring marked its most since the 2009 season. The Bison finished in fifth place at the CWPA Championship, its best showing at the prestigious event since 2010. Bucknell's win total has increased in each of the last three years.
