About the Game
Bucknell is coming off a convincing 26-10 season-opening victory at Marist in which it forced six turnovers, while Duquesne suffered a 35-point loss at Youngstown State in its first game last Thursday. It is the first of three consecutive home games for the Dukes, who welcome the Bison to Rooney Field for the first time since 2010.

About Duquesne
• Duquesne was 8-4 overall and 5-1 in Northeast Conference play last year. The Dukes won the conference title and earned a berth to the FCS playoffs, where they lost 52-49 at William & Mary.
• Duquesne trailed Youngstown State 24-10 at halftime in its season opener on Sept. 1 in front of more than 12,000 fans at Stambaugh Stadium. The Penguins outscored the Dukes 21-0 in the second half and outgained them 610-222 overall.
• Duquesne was picked to repeat as league champions in the Northeast Conference Preseason Poll. The Dukes earned six first-place votes.
• Duquesne had a league-high six players named to the Preseason All-NEC Team. Senior QB Dillon Buechel, senior WR Wayne Capers Jr. and junior OL Ben Huss were named on offense, while senior LB Christian Kuntz, senior DL Jake Radziukinas and junior LB Nathan Stone were named on defense.
• Senior LB Christian Kuntz was named to a number of All-America teams in the preseason, including the STATS FCS Preseason All-America First Team.
Bucknell vs. Duquesne Series Notes
• This is the 17th all-time meeting between Bucknell and Duquesne. The Bison lead the series 10-6.
• Bucknell has won 10 of the 14 meetings since 1997, including six of the last nine.
• The teams played all but two years from 1997 to 2011. This is the second straight year they have played after taking a three-year hiatus from 2012 to 2014.
• The teams played in 1933 and 1934 before taking a 63-year break in the series. Fifteen of the 17 games in the series have been played since 1997.
• Last year's game -- a 26-7 Duquesne win -- was the first contest in the series to be decided by more than 10 points since a 35-14 Duquesne victory in 2002.
Battle of Past Orange Bowl Champs
• Saturday's Bucknell-Duquesne matchup is a battle of former Orange Bowl champions. Bucknell defeated Miami (Fla.) 26-0 in the very first Orange Bowl on Jan. 1, 1935. On New Year's Day in 1937, Duquesne defeated Mississippi State 13-12 in Orange Bowl No. 3.

• Bucknell forced six Marist turnovers last week. It marked the most takeaways for the Bison since 2011 at Lafayette (7).
• Bucknell is tied for first nationally with a +5 turnover margin. Delaware and Lafayette are also +5.

• Sophomore K Alex Pechin was 2-for-4 on field goals last week at Marist, attempting three of at least 40 yards.

71-Yard Touchdown
• Junior WR Jack Horan, who moved from quarterback to wide receiver during preseason camp, had a 71-yard touchdown reception in the first half vs. Marist. It was his second career reception.
• It was the longest touchdown reception for a Bison since Will Carter had 77- and 78-yard touchdown catches in 2014 at Lehigh.
Nitti Moving Up Lists
• Senior QB R.J. Nitti moved up the Bison career record books during last week's game at Marist. The three-year starter completed 11 of 26 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown against the Red Foxes.
• Nitti moved from seventh to fifth on the career pass completions list. He now has 359 in his career.
• Nitti moved from sixth to fourth on the career pass attempts list. He now has 664 in his career.
• Nitti moved into a tie for second place on the career touchdown passes list with Marcello Trigg. Nitti now has 31 touchdown passes in his career.
• Nitti also ranks fourth on the career passing yards list with 4,573.
Richard Named PL Defensive Player of the Week
• Junior LB Ben Richard was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after totaling 13 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass breakup vs. Marist.
• It is the second career Patriot League weekly honor for Richard, who was named PL Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high 18 tackles last year at VMI.
• Richard was also named the Bison Athlete of the Week and was an Honorable Mention STATS FCS Defensive Player of the Week.
• Richard helped the Bison defense total 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. Bucknell reached double figures in tackles for loss three times last year. The six sacks marked the most for the Bison since registering six vs. Fordham in 2014.
Freshnock Named PL Rookie of the Week
• Freshman RB Chad Freshnock was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Monday after rushing 12 times for 51 yards in his first career game.
• Freshnock received his first career carries late in the first half and helped the Bison out-rush Marist 176-78.
• Freshnock is Bucknell's first PL Rookie of the Week since Bryan Marine last Oct. 5.
100-Yard Game for DeFloria
• Junior RB Joey DeFloria earned his first career start last week and produced, gaining a career-high 145 yards on 27 carries.
• It was the first 100-yard game of DeFloria's career. He became the 76th player in program history to post a 100-yard game.
Head Coach Joe Susan
• Bucknell head coach Joe Susan is in his seventh year on the Bison sideline.
• Susan was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year in 2014 after guiding the Bison to their best season since 1997.
• Susan was Bucknell's first PL Coach of the Year since Tom Gadd in 1997.
• Susan ranks sixth in program history in games coached with 67.
• Susan ranks ninth in program history in wins with 29, one victory behind Albert E. Humphreys.
Holding Opponents Under 30 Points
• Bucknell held all 11 of its opponents in 2015 under 30 points. In fact, the most points scored by a Bison foe was 26 by Duquesne.
• Bucknell was one of three teams nationally to hold all of its opponents in 2015 under 30 points. Also in that group were 9-1 Dartmouth and 10-2 Dayton.
