Men?s Soccer Picked Sixth in Patriot League Preseason Poll

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
The Bison finished in fifth place with a 3-3-3 record in league play last season, earning a spot in the Patriot League Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. Bucknell was defeated in the quarterfinal round against fourth-seeded Lehigh by a 2-0 margin.
American was tabbed as the preseason favorite, tallying 148 points and six first-place votes, while Boston University was picked second, receiving 147 votes and 10 first-place votes on the ballot.
Colgate placed third with 130 points and Lehigh was voted fourth with 126. Rounding out the 10-team poll are Navy (80), Bucknell (73), Army West Point (73), Holy Cross (48), Loyola (48) and Lafayette (27).
Colgate's Ethan Kutler was tabbed as Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Joining Kutler on the Preseason All-Patriot League Team are teammates Jared Stroud and Zach Tamen, along with American's Dale Ludwig, Panos Nakhid and Jake Garcia, Feliz De Bona, Anthony Viteri, David Asbjornsson and Matt Gilbery of Boston University, and Lehigh's Justin Worley.
Bucknell opens the season Friday at home with a contest against Delaware. The game is set for 7 p.m. and will broadcast on the Patriot League Network.
