Joe Conner Promoted to Men's Lax Associate Head Coach

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell head men's lacrosse coach Frank Fedorjaka has announced that longtime assistant Joe Conner Jr. has been promoted to associate head coach. Conner, who serves as the team's offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator, will be entering his eighth year on the Bison sideline in 2016-17.
"Joe has worked very hard and is well-deserving of this title," said Fedorjaka. "He joined our program as a part-time assistant, and he has climbed his way up to this position. Joe has done a terrific job with everything that I have asked him to do. His biggest contributions have come as the offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator, but he is much more than that. Joe is a true professional, works very hard, has high morals, puts the program first at all times, and is a good man. I'm happy for him and his family, and I hope to have them around for a long time."
Conner's offense ranked second in the Patriot League and 20th nationally in scoring at better than 11 goals per game in 2016. Throughout his tenure at Bucknell, he has coached a number of prolific scorers, including a pair of Third Team All-Americans in Billy Eisenreich and David Dickson.
As recruiting coordinator, Conner has helped bring in several nationally ranked recruits. Most notably, the 2014 recruiting class was ranked 13th nationally by Inside Lacrosse and featured three players ranked in the top 100. A year earlier, the Bison had three first-year players named to Inside Lacrosse's top-25 freshmen list.
Conner played college lacrosse at Binghamton and Mount St. Mary's, and he coached at The Mount for two seasons before joining the Bucknell staff in September 2009.
Last month Fedorjaka announced the addition of Brian Small as assistant coach, rounding out his staff for next season. The Bison are looking to build on a successful 10-5 season that culminated with a double-overtime loss to 10th-ranked Loyola in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals.
