LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell head coach Dan Schinnerer has announced the addition of nine newcomers to the Bucknell men's swimming and diving team beginning with the 2016-17 season. The group joins a team that lost eight seniors following a fourth-place finish at last year's Patriot League Championships.
"We are excited about this class and what it is capable of doing for the program,” Schinnerer said. “It is a large class which we needed to help build our team's depth. This will be key in moving back up in the standings in the Patriot League. In addition, we have several individuals that specialize in the sprint events, which is another area that we know we have to improve in order to move up in the conference. We know this group has the ability to improve not only next year but throughout their four years at Bucknell."
The nine incoming student-athletes represent seven states, including three from New Jersey. The group also covers Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Texas.
Bucknell returns three All-Patriot League swimmers. The Bison program has never finished lower than fourth at the Patriot League Championships.
