WASHINGTON, D.C. – Colleen Barron, Hannah Sunday and Eleanor Marrs each scored five goals and had a pair of multi-goal outings on Saturday, helping the Bucknell women's water polo team to a split of its first two CWPA league games of the season. The Bison opened the day with a 15-10 loss to No. 21 Hartwick, but bounced back with a 13-9 victory over Brown later in the afternoon.
Bucknell (13-12, 1-1 CWPA) improved to 13-0 in games against unranked opponents as its top offensive players had strong days.

The Bison led the Hawks 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, but Hartwick outscored Bucknell 7-1 in the second period. The final five-goal margin equaled the largest of the game.

Manuela Herrera started both games in goal, but Haley Derrod also received plenty of playing time in the two games. Herrera posted seven saves against Hartwick and six more against Brown. Derrod totaled six saves in 24:00 minutes on the day.
Marrs' five goals and three assists in the two games moved her season point total to 101, which places her eighth on the school's single-season list. Her 49 assists are ranked seventh on the single-season ledger.
