Bison Men Win 12 Events at Maroon and Gold Invitational

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's track and field team won 12 events, in its final meet before the Patriot League Outdoor Championships, Saturday at the Maroon and Gold Invitational hosted by Bloomsburg University.
The Bison sprinters posted four victories on the day. The titles were won by Grant Reynolds (110-meter hurdles), Dan Gevirtz (100), William Melchionni (200) and Jacob Ashkettle (400).
In distance events, Will Bordash finished first in the 1,500, while Jordan Jackson was the champion in the 800.
Bucknell earned six first-place finishes in field events. After breaking his own school record in the shot put Friday at the 122nd Penn Relays, Joseph Breen was the champion in the shot put and discus events. Bo Burleigh finished first in the javelin with a toss of 186-0.
In jumping events, Nicholas Lombardo took first in the long jump with a jump of 23-5 ½, while Reggie Harris earned the top spot in the triple jump with a leap of 46-3 ¼. Matthew Fay finished first in the pole vault, clearing 15-5.
Bucknell will host the 2016 Patriot League Outdoor Championships on May 6-7 at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
