Men's Tennis Closes Regular Season with Loss at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell men's tennis team closed its regular season with a 7-0 loss at Navy in Patriot League play on Sunday. The Bison enter the conference tournament at 13-12 overall and 2-3 against league opponents.
The Bison's lone win of the day came at No. 1 doubles, where senior Nick Bybel and sophomore Daniel Wright won 6-4 over Austin Jones and Tucker Massie.
The 7-0 score wasn't indicative of how competitive many of the matches were. Both Andrei Vitiuc and Max McDonald lost in the third-set tiebreakers, while Bybel trailed in his tiebreaker before being forced to retire due to an injury.
Bucknell now turns its attention to the Patriot League Tournament, which will be held at Lehigh on April 29-May 1. Seeding has yet to be determined, but the Bison will open play in the quarterfinal round.
