LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's water polo senior Eleanor Marrs (Henderson, Nev./Green Valley) earned her second weekly award this season from the Collegiate Water Polo Association earlier this week. The Bison's leading point scorer was named the CWPA Player of the Week thanks to her six-point outing last Saturday in an 11-4 win over Mercyhurst. She was previously named CWPA Co-Player of the Week on March 3.
Bucknell (12-11) had a quiet week with just one game, but that did not stop Marrs from putting up impressive numbers. The left-hander totaled three goals, three assists, one ejection drawn, one field block and she was 2-for-2 on sprints against the Lakers. She, along with three classmates, was honored prior to the game during Senior Day ceremonies as it was Bucknell's final home contest of the 2016 campaign.
It was the 11th time this season Marrs has netted at least three goals in a game and her sixth contest with at least six points.
Marrs leads Bucknell in assists (46) and points (93) this season. She ranks second on the squad in goals (47) and steals (29).
A three-year starter, Marrs now ranks fifth on Bucknell's career assists list (125), 10th in career points (256) and 16th in career goals (131).
Bucknell, which has won three of its last four games, will return to action April 9-10 in Washington, D.C., when it will play three CWPA league opponents.
