
Women's Water Polo Posts 10-4 Win at Cal Lutheran

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Hannah Sunday scored a game-high three goals and Eleanor Marrs tied her season high with four assists as the Bucknell women's water polo team defeated Cal Lutheran by a 10-4 margin Tuesday. The win evened the Bison's record on their California spring break trip at 2-2 and their overall season record at 10-10. The Regals fell to 7-12.
This was the second meeting of the season between Bucknell and Cal Lutheran. The two teams played in February at the Princeton Invitational and the Bison won 13-8. Bucknell is 4-0 all-time against the Regals.
The Bison held Cal Lutheran scoreless for the middle two quarters on Tuesday and led by an 8-1 score early in the fourth quarter.
Sunday's three goals helped her take the team lead in goals for the season with 45. Marrs is now up to a team-high 40 assists on the season, putting her 12th on the program's single-season list.
Kendyl Johnson and Emily Konishi added two goals apiece for the Bison, who totaled 16 steals on the defensive end of the pool. Marrs and Colleen Barron had three steals apiece to lead the way.
Bucknell has two more games remaining on its trip to California as it will play at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday and at nationally ranked Long Beach State on Thursday.
