SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Trailing 7-1 early in the third quarter, the Bucknell women's water polo team scored three straight goals and six of the game's final eight, but came up just short, falling to No. 20 San Diego State by a 9-7 score Sunday afternoon at the Aztec Invitational.
Hannah Sunday scored a team-high four goals for the Bison (9-10). All four of her goals came in the second half, and she got the scoring streak started with back-to-back scores early in the third period. Shyla Lintz, Colleen Barron and Eleanor Marrs added one goal apiece. Lintz was the only Bucknell player to score in the first half.
San Diego State (8-11) was led on the offensive end by Caroline Israels. Three of Israels' goals came in the first half.
