Men's Swimming and Diving Takes Sixth at ECAC Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The strength of the Patriot League in men's swimming and diving was on display at the ECAC Championships this weekend, and Bucknell played a key role in that with a sixth-place finish out of 23 teams at the event. The Bison had four individuals and one relay score points on the final day of competition Sunday at Navy's Lejeune Hall.
The Bison finished with 259 points, edging sixth-place Marist, which tallied 250. Patriot League champion Navy won the event with 688 points, while Army West Point was the runner-up with 470.
The Bison's top individual performer of the day was Sean Lyons, who took 12th in the 1,650 free, finishing in 16:18.18.
Bucknell had two swimmers qualify for the consolation final of the 100 free, led by Jack Robinson with a 12th-place showing in 46.17. Vincent Filippini was 13th. His best time of the day was 46.18 in the prelims.
Tom Gannon gave the Bison four individual scorers on the day with a 15th-place finish in the 200 breast. He touched the wall in 2:06.85.
Both Gannon and Filippini were a part of the Bucknell 400 free relay team that took eighth. They joined Kyle Bloom and Jack Rogers to qualify for the finals.
