Men's Tennis Falls to 4-4 with Loss to No. 55 Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. – Bucknell went on the road to play nationally-ranked Old Dominion on Friday and was dealt a 7-0 defeat in non-conference men's tennis action. The Monarchs, which are ranked 55th in the country, improved to 8-3 with their sixth straight win.
Bucknell's record fell to an even 4-4 on the season. Two of those losses have come on the road to nationally ranked teams. The other was a 6-1 defeat to then-No. 47 Penn State.
Old Dominion entered the match with two regionally ranked players. Their top player, Adam Moundir, is also ranked 103rd in the nation and was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 1 singles.
Senior Nick Bybel and junior Bryan Adams had a great chance of upsetting Old Dominion's top doubles team of Moundir and Aziz Kijametovic, who entered with a ranking of fifth in the Atlantic Region. With the score tied 6-6, the Bison led 1-0 in the next set, but the match went unfinished after the Monarchs' clinched the doubles point with wins in on courts two and three.
The Bison will be back at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center for the second straight day when they play Norfolk State on Saturday at 6 p.m.
