Men?s Track and Field Wins 10 Events at the Bucknell Tune-Up

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's track and field team won 10 events at the Bucknell Tune-Up on Friday night at Gerhard Fieldhouse. It was the final meet for the Bison before the Patriot League Championships.
Nicholas Lombardo continued his dominance at Gerhard Fieldhouse in the high jump, pacing the field with a leap of 6-8 ¾. Elijah Kay finished as the runner-up with a jump of 6-6 ¾, while Steven Bolger tied for third.
The Bison won eight titles in running events. Grant Reynolds beat out seven runners in the 60m hurdles with an IC4A-qualifying time of 8.21, while John Kirna took the top spot in the mile, finishing in 4:24.55.
In a field of 11 runners, Jacob Ashkettle took first in the 400m run, finishing in 50.36. Scott Gulizio took first out of 20 in the 800m, crossing the line in 1:55.23, while David Frering ran a time of 2:30.72 to win the 1,000m title. Griffin Robertson competed in the 200m dash, finishing with a time of 22.74 to take first place.
Andrew Kuchta earned first place in the 3,000m run, crossing the line in 8:36.74. A team with Gilizio, Will Bordash, Ross Pirnie and John Westwood took first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:26.86.
Matthew Fay tied Lehigh's John Tyler for the pole vault title, clearing 15-3.
Joseph Breen qualified for the IC4A Championships, taking the runner-up spot in the shot put with a toss of 55-5 ½. His heave is a personal-best and ranks third in program history.
The Patriot League Championships will be held at Boston University on Feb. 19-21.
