Special Event Note
* Throughout the weekend, Bucknell will be celebrating the program's 60th Anniversary.
* The inaugural men's swimming and diving team (1956-57) will be honored during Saturday's event, as will the inaugural women's team (1973-74).
About the Bison
* Bucknell will compete in its first league meet and its first scored meet of the season on Saturday. The Bison opened the 2016-17 campaign with an unscored meet against two-time defending CCSA champion UMBC.
* Sophomore Chadd Cummings was named the season's first Patriot League Swimmer of the Week after the meet against UMBC. He took first in the 100 breast and was second in the 200 breast. He added a runner-up finish as part of the 200 medley relay.
* Sophomore Charlie McFarland was also an individual winner for the Bison against the Retrievers, taking first in the 100 IM.
* Bucknell was picked to finish third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
Scouting Boston University
* Boston University is 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the Patriot League after opening the season with a 173.5-123.5 win over Lehigh. The Terriers won 10 events, including three apiece by David Thiede (1-meter diving, 3-meter diving) and Daniel Andronov (100 breast, 200 breast).
* The Terriers were picked to finish fourth in the Patriot League.
Series History
* Bucknell and Boston University are tied 1-1 in the all-time series. The teams have met in each of the past two seasons after the Terriers joined the Patriot League.
* The Bison won 159.5-139.5 in the first meeting, but the Terriers were 185-115 winners last season.
* Louis Behnen (500 free) and Chris Devlin (100 back) were individual winners for the Bison in last season's meet.
Up Next
* Bucknell will travel to compete against Seton Hall on Sunday, Oct. 30. It is one of just three away events for the Bison during the regular season.
