LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team wraps up its regular season schedule at the seven-team Navy Invite on Saturday in Lejeune Hall. The unscored meet is split into two sessions, with the first beginning at noon and the second beginning 30 minutes after the completion of the first session.
Joining the Bison at the meet will be American, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.), Navy, Seton Hall and Shippensburg. Nine women's events will be contested in each session, while a swimmer may compete in three individual events in each session and in eight total events on the day.
With the weather forcing a cancellation of Bucknell's meet at Lehigh this past weekend, it will have been two weeks since the Bison last competed. The Bison improved to 4-4 with a win over Wagner on Jan. 17.
The Bison had the fastest time in 11 events in the win over Wagner, led by Julianna Foss with first-place finishes in the 100 fly and 200 fly, as well as the fastest time while swimming exhibition in the 200 IM. Foss also joined Emma Levendoski, Diana Hanson and Abigail Rosenberg on the winning on the first-place 200-medley relay team.
Also winning two individual events for Bucknell against Wagner were Rosenberg (50 free, 100 free) and Dani Potis (500 free, 1,000 free).
Bucknell last competed in the Navy Invite in 2014. Rachel Perry (200 back) and Caroline Orem (400 IM) had top-three finishes.
Saturday will be the final tune-up for the Bison as they prepare for the Patriot League Championships, which will also be held at Navy's Lejeune Hall. The four-day conference meet will be held from Feb. 17-20.
