LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell women's swimming and diving team will compete for the third time in eight days as it hosts Wagner on Sunday at Kinney Natatorium. The team's six seniors will be honored at the meet, which is the final home competition of the season.
The Bison are coming off a weekend split with a pair of Patriot League opponents that moved their record to 3-4 overall. They fell to a tough Army West Point Team on Saturday, but bounced back with a convincing 192-104 win at Colgate the following day.
Senior Emma Levendoski was honored with Patriot League Swimmer of the Week honors following the two meets. Her fourth weekly award of the season was a result of her winning all four backstroke events against Army West Point and Colgate. It was the 11th weekly award of her career.
Bucknell and Wagner competed for the first time last season, with the Bison winning 134-109. Dani Potis was a two-event winner in the team's victory, taking first in the 500 and 1,000 free. Levendoski won the 200 back and joined Rachel McGoff, Maddie Marcheskie and Julianna Foss on the first-place 200 free relay.
Wagner has been successful this season, especially as of late. The Seahawks are 6-2 overall following four straight wins, including a sweep of Iona, St. Francis Brooklyn and Sacred Heart at the Iona Quad Meet. In their most recent competition, the Seahawks downed Saint Francis (Pa.) 148-114.
Joining Levendoski as seniors competing in their final meet at Kinney Natatorium will be Leanne Archer, Rachel Brekovsky, Lara Curtis, Emily Gwynn and Alanna Nawrocki.
