Chris Devlin Advances to 200 Backstroke Finals in Spain

BARCELONA, Spain – All four Bucknell swimmers that are in Spain for this week's Barcelona Meet on the Mare Nostrum Series were in action Wednesday on the first day of the two-day event. The highlight of the day was Chris Devlin advancing to the finals of the 200-meter backstroke.
Devlin finished in 11th place in the prelims in a time of 2:04.03 and followed up with a 13th-place showing in the evening's finals race. He also swam the 50 back (28.12) and tied for 28th in the prelims.
Louis Behnen also swam in two events on Wednesday as he was 25th in the 200 back (2:10.78) and 44th in the 400 free (4:06.49).
Julianna Foss and Emma Levendoski both competed in the 100 back on the women's side. Levendoski finished 21st in 1:04.98, while Foss was 31st in 1:06.34.
Most of the events had more than 40 swimmers entered, with many having more than 50 competitors.
The meet will wrap up Thursday. Bucknell's four-swimmer contingent traveled to Spain last Friday.
