Six Bison Boats Advance to Second Day of Dad Vail Regatta

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Schuylkill River) – The Bucknell women's rowing team opened competition at the Dad Vail Regatta on Friday and six of its eight boats advanced to Saturday's races, including the varsity eight, which won its heat by more than seven seconds over Saint Joseph's.
The varsity eight will be joined in Saturday's race lineup by the freshman eight, varsity pair, junior varsity eight, varsity four and lightweight four. Five of the boats will race in semifinals, while the lightweight four will row in its afternoon final.
The junior varsity eight also won its heat, crossing the line more than four seconds ahead of runner-up Saint Joseph's.
The freshman eight, varsity four, lightweight four and varsity pair were each second in their heats.
The freshman four and single (Jaclyn Tules) were also in action on Friday and placed fourth and fifth in their heats, respectively.
Saturday's Dad Vail competition kicks off at 7 a.m. The freshman eight will be the Bison's first boat in the water at 8:03 a.m.
