Women's Water Polo Falls to No. 16 Michigan, 13-4

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Facing its second nationally ranked opponent in as many days, the Bucknell women's water polo team lost to No. 16 Michigan by a 13-4 score Sunday at Indiana's Counsilman Aquatics Center. The Bison wrapped up their weekend in Indiana with a 1-2 record, having split games with Notre Dame College and No. 12 Indiana on Saturday.
Hannah Sunday led Bucknell (11-12, 3-6 CWPA) with two goals on Sunday, while Taylor Barnett and Katherine DeRuff had one apiece.
Michigan (18-11, 8-1 CWPA) scored two goals in the first minute and led 5-2 at the end of the first period. It was 7-3 at halftime and the Wolverines outscored the Bison 6-1 in the second half. Michigan was led by four goals by Caroline Anderson.
Bucknell will now prepare for next weekend's CWPA Championship, which will run April 24-26 at Princeton's DeNunzio Pool.
